Anybody write fiction or participate in NaNoWriMo?

Just curious. I figure that people who teach and take library science classes are also readers. Are any of you writers? Have you participated in National Novel Writing Month?

For those of you who aren’t familiar, NaNoWriMo is a challenge to write 50,000 words (or more) of an actual novel during the month of November. Only words that you wrote between 12:01 November 1st and 12:00 on November 30th count for the challenge. It can be done, I’ve done it 6 out of 7 tries. Not that I’ve actually turned out a novel that I think is good enough to send to a publisher.

However, I still have dreams of literary glory that aren’t assauged by blogging.

  1. I do some writing, but really haven’t had much time lately to work on anything. I do a teen writing group at the library, although participation has been spotty, I do have one teen who is an avid and talented writer. I am sure she will go far. We do a published author working for us at my library. It’s pretty cool, he has a book in the library!
Good luck with your novel! I admire anyone who has the fortitude to finish a book!
