The Mystery of the Antique Book Nobody Can Read

This is quite an old mystery, extending back to the early 20th Century. Well, actually it goes back farther. However, the first documented encounter with this manuscript is 1912, when Wilfrid Voynich, an antique book dealer, came across this manuscript in a chest of other old books.

Over one hundred years later, there still isn’t anybody who can read this book.

Anybody write fiction or participate in NaNoWriMo?

Just curious. I figure that people who teach and take library science classes are also readers. Are any of you writers? Have you participated in National Novel Writing Month?

For those of you who aren’t familiar, NaNoWriMo is a challenge to write 50,000 words (or more) of an actual novel during the month of November. Only words that you wrote between 12:01 November 1st and 12:00 on November 30th count for the challenge. It can be done, I’ve done it 6 out of 7 tries. Not that I’ve actually turned out a novel that I think is good enough to send to a publisher.

However, I still have dreams of literary glory that aren’t assauged by blogging.
